In my final year studying for a BA in Cambridge, going to Harvard next year to complete a PHD.
Experience
The tutoring I offer is mainly targeted at those thinking of applying to Oxbridge universities in the UK. As most will know, an application to either Oxford or Cambridge is a different matter from applying to other UK universities, and one which comes with its own distinct challenges. For those interested in applying I offer personal statement coaching, guidance and clarification on the collegiate system, mock-interview sessions as well as the opportunity to visit Cambridge (where I live) for faculty and college tours. I am currently still an undergraduate at Cambridge, and I can honestly say the last few years have been the best of my life. However it could have been very different story: Having studied my GCSEs and A-levels at a comprehensive school in North Wales with no previous history of sending students to Oxbridge, the thing I believe really won me my place was down-to-earth advice from those who had actually studied at the university, and whom I was lucky enough to know. Especially important was the opportunity to visit the university - to have a concrete image in my head of this mythical institution to which I was applying, and to remind me that my goal was attainable. As well as advice on personal statements and interviews, I offer a programe in which prospective students can come up to Cambridge for one or two days and be guided around the colleges and faculties, gaining insights and a real-life perspective that, frankly, the official Open Day doesn't offer.
